Establishing the ballet studio in 2012, founders Nurlan and Aygul Abougaliev are committed to providing the finest classical ballet training in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Both Nurlan and Aygul were classically trained in the Russian Vaganova method and danced professionally at a variety of global companies as well as Pittsburgh Ballet Theater where Nurlan was principal dancer.
Classical ballet is the foundation of all forms of dance. Our mission is to bring the beauty of classical Russian ballet to our Pittsburgh ballet studio using the Vaganova training techniques. The Vaganova method emphasizes physical strength, flexibility, body placement, artistic expression and produce many ballet greats including Baryshnikov, Nureyev and Zakharova. It is our pleasure at Allegro Ballet Academy of Pittsburgh to impart this special knowledge to our students. We challenge each individual student in a positive environment in order to make sure students learn correctly so they may improve as quickly as possible. Allegro Ballet Academy instructors are classically trained professionals who have studied at a variety of top domestic and international ballet schools and have performed extensively.
Located in the Wexford-McCandless area, Allegro is a Pittsburgh Ballet Academy offering a variety of flexible class options for students ages 3 through preprofessional. Allegro Ballet Academy has two annual performances, the Nutcracker and our spring show. We include excerpts from classical story ballets in our spring show such as Don Quixote and Cinderella that, like the Nutcracker, provide a variety of roles for students to perform. Adult students also have performance opportunities. Please contact us with any questions at Allegroballetpa@gmail.com.
